IMPORTANT MESSAGE
Dear readers and visitors: I have decided, after much consideration, that the time has come to end the Star Wars Book Update, officially and indefinitely. To put it simply: There will be NO MORE STAR WARS BOOK UPDATE NEWSLETTER anytime in the forseeable future. Many of you may have seen this coming a long way off, as I've failed to release new editions of the newsletter for over three full years now. For that, I apologize. I just no longer am able to put aside sufficient time to research and compose the newsletter. It's been fun, and I regret that a good thing must now come to an end.
I also will no longer be maintaining my Star Wars book release schedule for now, though it's possible I could take it back up again in the future. In the meantime, check that page for links to other highly recommended websites with release schedules for Star Wars books. On a positive note, the list of Star Wars novels will continue to be updated regularly (after a year and a half of neglect). I will also continue to be available to answer your Star Wars book related questions, at the e-mail address listed farther down on this page.
Additionally, if anyone is interested in writing their own Star Wars book newsletter, or if anyone already has one, let me know, and I can point my former subscribers in your direction (I can't give away their e-mail addresses, but I can let them know where to subscribe). I could also point you in the direction of some good information resources if you'd like. And I would have no problem if someone wanted to use the exact same "Star Wars Book Update" name.

E-mail Address Changing: The e-mail address for the Star Wars Book Update and Star Wars book related correspondence is changing to  . Before the end of July 2008, the old address will be deactived, and swbu@yodasdatapad.com WILL NO LONGER FUCTION.
The Star Wars Book Update is a free monthly e-mail newsletter, and it's the place for the latest Star Wars book news, information, and reviews.
Each update includes:
- The latest news about Star Wars books, collected from the most reliable sources.
- Cover pictures, basic information, descriptions, and mini-reviews of recent releases.
- Cover pictures, basic information, and descriptions of the next month's releases.
- Links to websites with more information on the latest Star Wars books.
- Information and mini-reviews of new Star Wars short stories.
- Updated release schedules for all known upcoming Star Wars books.*

To subscribe to the Star Wars Book Update, all you have to do is send an e-mail to . You should get a confirmation message within a week or two - if you don't, try e-mailing me again (this hasn't ever happened as far as I know, but just in case). Make sure to include your e-mail address, and if your e-mail program doesn't support imbedded pictures, request the text-only version.
Privacy: Subscribers' e-mail addresses will not be shared with any third parties, and will not be visible to other subscribers. Your e-mail address will be used only by Yoda's Datapad and only for the Star Wars Book Update and possibly the occasional closely related mailing (like time-sensitive news if it breaks between updates). If you have any questions, feel free to ask by e-mailing me at (your e-mail address will not be added to the mailing list unless you request so or unless your message is blank).
*The Update does not currently cover role-playing game books, video game guides, audiobooks, or calendars. However, it includes pretty much all other books, including novels, novellas, eBooks, young readers' books, reference and art books, childrens books, and more.
