What species is Shaak Ti?

Jedi Master Shaak Ti is a member of the Togruta species. Another prominent Togruta is Padawan Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars computer animated television show and movie.

What planet did the jedi come from?

Where exactly the Jedi arts came from originally is unknown. However, it is now believed that the actual Jedi Order was formed on the planet Tython, roughly 25,000 years before the movies. Ossus was also an important planet in the early days of the Jedi, and some believe that may be where they first came from. Most information that is known about the early years of the Jedi Order and the Republic can be found in Star Wars: The New Essential Chronology by Daniel Wallace (a very cool and informative book).
